The workpiece is clamped on the AL 100 by clamping between the machine table top and the clamping claws. The clamping on the top of the workpiece means that the patching process is always flush, as the reference surface always remains the same and independent of the height tolerances of the patch. The height compensation between edgewise and flat edged workpieces takes place automatically in a range of 60 mm. The electro-pneumatic sequence control also guarantees an automatic workflow with the greatest possible precision. Workpieces up to 140 mm high can be clamped and patched out.

Thanks to the glue grooves (see illustration below) that are automatically made on each transverse wood slice , the glue can rise up the side of the transverse wood slice in glue channels towards the top of the wood.

The transverse wood pane is thus glued all around, not just on its underside. In addition, there is no glue bath between the transverse wood disc and the bottom of the borehole and no air volume remains. The transverse wood slice always rests on the bottom of the borehole, so it remains flush with the surface of the repaired item and is not drawn deeper into the borehole when the glue diffuses into the wood.
