The MU-500VII universal vertical machining center adopts a powerful new double column structure to offer the most machining in the least floor space. The latest innovations in thermal countermeasures have been incorporated to offer the best performance available today. The MU-500VII has a full NC 5-axis simultaneous control system. It is equipped with a high speed; high power 40 Taper 8,000 rpm spindle with a 15hp VAC liquid cooled integral motor. This model incorporates a high-speed 20-position automatic tool changer and 1,574ipm rapid traverse, resulting in powerful production capability. The MU-500VII control is Okuma's patented THINC®-OSP P300M, featuring Easy Operation and the patented OSP absolute position encoders which do not require a zero return.
