Fives Cincinnati's new U6 Portal Mill provides an adjustable crossrail for oversize-part machining. The crossrail is an additional programmable axis (W-axis) for extended vertical travel to compliment the Z-axis range to reach extreme limits of the workzone or provide clearance to maneuver over extremely large workpieces -- up to 9 m (29.5 ft). The U6 is heavy duty. Its robust construction allow for machining with minimum ram extension and offers heavy cutting performance making it ideal solution for machining steel titanium, forgings, castings or large weldments.
