Y9520 Hand-operated Gear Tester is designed for testing the meshing and the tooth bearing of spiral bevel gears. The gear testing on this machine is done manually and simulates the real mounting conditions. Both the rotation of the pinion and the loading of the gear are done manually, too. Meshing of the gear pair is tested through modal meshing. The correct machine settings will be determined by means of measuring the position and the marking compound of the tooth bearing so as to keep the consistence of the production lot.

With the rolling method of a pair of gears or a gear and a master gear, this machine tests the tooth bearings of straight bevel, spiral bevel and hypoid gears of intersecting shafts
The following tests may be performed on this machine:
1) the final tests of a gear pair to determine the tooth bearing and the best mounting distance;
2) to determine the necessary setting data for the gear cutting machines;
3) continuous tests during the production to guarantee the uniformity of the gears produced, and
4) to gain the new setting data for the gear cutting machines through comparisons of the testing results before and after the heat treatment.
